ABOUT US

Anchor Shane

SHANE LONG, MA, LMFT, MDIV

Life can be a mixture of joy and pain, hope and discouragement, and we all can benefit from an experience of receiving support in an encouraging and non-judgmental environment as we navigate life’s paths. I attempt to create and maintain this type of environment in therapy and feel privileged to work with the individuals, couples, and families that choose to participate with me in counseling.

I have been working in the field of human services for over a decade in a variety of capacities including school-based therapy, pastoral ministry, higher education, and the field of marriage and family therapy. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults in individual, couple, and family therapy settings. I feel comfortable working with individuals and families facing a myriad of challenges including life transitions, depression, anxiety, anger, grief and loss, premarital, marital and parenting work, family stressors; history of trauma, compulsions and addictions, and sexual health and well-being to name a few. I strive to be a culturally and spiritually sensitive therapist and have a deep interest in the physical, spiritual, and mental well-being of the clients I work with in therapy.

EXPERIENCE
I received both my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and Master’s of Divinity degrees from Bethel University in St. Paul after completing a degree in Exercise Physiology at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. I am a certified narrative therapist and licensed with the board of Marriage and Family Therapy in the state of Minnesota.

JILL FRANK, MA, LPCC

I work from a perspective that is competency-based and non-pathologizing. I try to hold space for clients in a way that is gentle and collaborative, as well as authentic and straightforward. I admire clients for taking on the challenge to enter therapy. I believe that pain from the past is not truly “past” until it is healed. Avoiding or ignoring old wounds does not make them go away. Doing the work of therapy to heal and grow takes courage, and I am honored to hold the stories of my clients with them, and am passionate about walking alongside individuals and their families on the path toward wholeness.

I enjoy working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and am committed to helping people, regardless of who you are or how you identify yourself, with sensitivity and respect.  I have a special interest in the treatment of all forms of trauma.  I have experience working with anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, dissociative disorders, grief and loss, relationship concerns, spiritual concerns, substance abuse and recovery, and support for parents.

EXPERIENCE

I completed my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology in 2008, and I have been licensed in MN as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) since 2016.  I started my career as a mental health practitioner working with children, adolescents, and their families in a home-based setting. In 2013, I went on to work with women and children experiencing homelessness in long-term residential programming.

I have completed Level 1 and 2 Basic training in EMDR, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.  EMDR is a well-researched, powerful tool used for helping the brain process traumatic experiences, without the need to explain in detail the associated memories.  I am also certified in the Adaptive Internal Relational (AIR) Network model, which is a trauma-informed approach effective in the treatment of complex trauma and dissociation.  I am trained in the facilitation of individual and group Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which focuses on developing mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness skills, emotional regulation, and increasing one’s ability to tolerate emotional pain. I am a MN board-approved supervisor for LPCC’s.

CHRIS FRANK, MA, LPCC

I am gifted in helping people heal. I get especially excited about helping people gain a greater sense of agency. In other words, I want to help you "know what you know" and more fully express who you genuinely are as a person. I can help you address specific barriers to a more satisfying life, like difficult circumstances, unhealthy relationship patterns, trauma, oppressive social structures, stress and anxiety, anger, depression, addiction, or shame.

As a person I am approachable, discerning, transparent, good-humored, and playful. As a therapist I am well-practiced and always open to learning new things. I believe in the counseling process and have seen it play a significant role in changing people’s lives for the better.

I help people make positive changes in their life through a storytelling approach. Sometimes in your life there is a gap between your positive intentions and the outcomes you were looking for. But I have found people are often able to close these gaps by developing richer or broader ways of thinking about themselves and others around them. It is a method in which my clients are invited to explore pain, hurt, and mistakes while also layering in grace, acceptance, healing, and strength. Through the process clients experience themselves in new and deeply authentic ways that resonate with the core of who they are.

EXPERIENCE

I am a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) with fifteen years of experience in clinical counseling. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with post-graduate training in marriage and family therapy, and I am certified in Adaptive Internal Relational Network therapy. I also teach college and graduate level classes, provide clinical supervision, teach workshops, and do consulting. I am a MN board-approved LPCC supervisor
